Mark and Jean Oberkirsch have been professional artists since 1976. Their metalworking hobby quickly turned into their livelihood. They are self-taught individuals that developing their techniques while working in the studio. The Oberkirsch grew up in the Midwest and their art reflected a midwestern theme until a trip to the Southwest in 1989 quickly changed their direction of their artwork. They fell in love with the beauty of the landscape and the native cultures and tried to capture that beauty in their artwork.
