Born in Keams Canyon, Arizona in 1956, Leonard Nez quickly established himself as a prominent jeweler after his wife, Marian, a skilled Navajo silversmith, taught him the craft. His first pendant led to numerous commissions, allowing him to support himself through his jewelry making within a year.

Leonard Nez is renowned for his expertise in heavy-gauge silver and gold, with a signature style that features fine chisel and stamp work, deeply grooved sterling silver overlay, and a blend of traditional and contemporary designs, including detailed scrollwork and classic feather motifs.

Royston Turquoise, sourced from a mine in Nevada, is prized for its striking two-tone hues, featuring rich dark green and lighter shades, occasionally with blue variations. It is characterized by a prominent matrix that ranges from deep brown to golden tones, adding a distinctive and eye-catching element to each piece.
